VIRTRIUM LLC COMMENTS ON SEAWOLF MONSTERS' DRAGONS IN SECOND LIFE

November 14, 2008 PHOENIX, Arizona - In order to dissolve recent rumors regarding copyright infringement of the dragons in Istaria, Virtrium LLC, developers of online game technologies and products, announced their approval of the Seawolf development team's dragon models found in the online social community of Second Life. Concern arose shortly after the release of these customizable dragon avatars as to whether the materials used by Seawolf were replications of Istaria's dragons.

President and CEO of Virtrium, Rick Simmons commented, "It's always been said that imitation is the best form of flattery. We consider the Seawolf dragon models a compliment to the dragons of Istaria and appreciate their use of Istarian experiences for inspiration. We proudly offer a unique gaming experience as a dragon, while Seawolf and the residents of Second Life are proud to offer exposure to a unique social environment as a dragon."

Second Life holds a corner of the internet as a 3D virtual world created for socializing with people worldwide in the same way that Istaria holds a corner of the MMO market as the only game with playable, flying dragons. "What could be better than spending time in a world where you can portray yourself as a dragon and, the next minute, joining a fantasy world of adventure and excitement built around the capabilities of dragons?", stated Rick.

As one of the designers of the Seawolf dragon models, Creighton Medsker was pleased to clear up any confusion on the relation of their models to the dragons found in Istaria. "There are similarities between our dragon and the Istaria dragon, such as the ability to mix and match styles, colors, and patterns. However, while similar options exist, the options and models themselves are distinct. Also, in appreciation of Istaria, we included a pair of 'special pants' that are worn on the avatar skeleton underneath the dragon." For those unfamiliar with the infamous Sammie 'Special Pants' of Istaria's past, a resident who had once offered the capability of tailor-made undergarments, this gesture was considered a momentous recognition of Istaria by Seawolf. Seawolf is also known inside the world of Second Life for creating and implementing items, specifically boats, which can be purchased and used by members of the Second Life community.
